Several York High School students entered their artwork into the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts Annual Scholastic Arts' Competition, which is on exhibit through May 4, 2024.
Congratulations to Juniors Lalaith Spencer whose painting earned first place and Logan DioGuardi whose traditional photograph earned third place in the competition. Logan also earned Honorable Mention for a traditional photograph that he entered.
Congratulations also to the following students whose artwork received Honorable Mention: Anna Chen, Madalena Balisciano, Isabella Fischer, Ashley Gianforti, Grace Christiano, Jacob Smith, and Sydney Boda.
Students Maggie Reissig, Cecelia Biondo, Lily Dolen, Emily Vattimo, Rebecca Lee, and Lucas DioGuardi also have artwork in the exhibit.
They all are students in Mrs. Penelope Murray and Ms. Kate Andrzejczak’s classes.
Today's (April 22, 2024) varsity baseball game originally scheduled to be played at Pavilion CS will now be played at Avon CS.

Gently used children's/teen clothing and toys can be delivered to Mrs. Dubiel main entrance here at YCS until April 30, 2024.
The girls will deliver the much appreciated items to the YCS Loft (clothing cupboard for students) and the toys will go to Golisano Children's Hospital.

Athletic Cancelations Today!
Students in Mr. MacKenzie's AP Participation in Government Class participated in Junior Achievement's Stock Market Challenge today at the Paychex JA Discovery Center located in the Kodak Center in Rochester.
York's stock market team of Jacob Smith, Grace Christiano, and Nathan Apps, placed third overall out of 33 teams competing in the challenge. A total of 120 area high school students representing eight school districts participated in today's stock market simulation
Also competing for YCS were Joe Bauer, Christian Ralston, Evan Carroll, Kyan Tiede, Tyler Brady, Aidan Boyd, and Jake Pangrazio.
The challenge was part of Junior Achievement's Take Stock in Your Future program, which introduces students to the stock market.
The students enjoyed the stock market simulation experience today.
With the forecast for the next several days ☔️💨, and NYS tests this week, we must take advantage of today's beautiful 🌞.
Big students, middle and little students enjoyed recess on the playground. Nothing is better!

Livingston County Sheriff's Dept. Vs. York Golden Knights staff will take to the court in a fundraiser to benefit the York Central School food pantry.
