Building the Next Generation YCS Leaders! York Middle/High School Principal Mrs. Peet took a group of students to SUNY Geneseo on Friday to participate in the Next Generation Leadership Summit. It is a program where area students participate in hands-on learning about what is servant leadership, how to become a positive leader, and how to create a vision plan for their schools. In other words, these student leaders will blaze a positive path at YCS! Here is an example of what speaker Dani Drews, SUNY Geneseo Dir. of Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation shared with the students: "Leadership is NOT about not making mistakes." "No two people lead the same - it is as unique as a fingerprint." "You are responsible for the energy you bring to the room." Congratulations to York/Pavilion Varsity Football Coach Kurt Schneider - named the Rochester Region Coach of the Week by the Buffalo Bills and ADPRO. The award comes with a $1,000 donation for Coach Schneider's Y/P Golden Knights Football program and a chance to be named the Coach of the Year, which will be announced during the Bill's game against the New England Patriots on December 31, 2023 at 1 p.m. Coach Schneider led his Knights to a 28-0 victory on October 20 over arch-rival Geneseo Blue Devils to win the Valley Ball trophy. The Lady Knights Volleyball program got the chance to meet and chat with the SUNY Geneseo Women’s volleyball team after their thrilling 5 set win over visiting Brockport on Wednesday night. A big thank you to Coach Hunter Drews for helping to make tonight happen! Our girls loved talking volleyball, how to play with intensity, and playing at the collegiate level. Go Knights!

Congratulations to Y/P Senior Football player #14 Tyler Brady on being named this week's Section V Football Player of the Week! Tyler had a season high 11 tackles and one pass defended in the Knight's victory over O/A-Elba.
