What's all the buzz in Mr. Bryan Earsing's Earth Science classroom?
Bees wax lip balms created by the students!
Mr. Earsing raises bees at his home. He brought in beeswax collected from his bee hives to be used by the students to make bees wax lip balms. The students melted the bees wax in a double boiler, added coconut oil and various fragrances to produce a variety of flavored lip balms.
The students very much enjoyed learning about beekeeping and making lip balms. Thank you Mr. Earsing!

Check out this fabulous piece of furniture made by students in Mr. Keenan's Manufacturing Systems Tech class.
A former York School student who recently purchased a new home contacted Mr. Keenan to ask if a class was interested in making a farmhouse style wood table for him.
We think the students did a terrific job. The table will be going home to its owner this week.
Nice work Connor, Casey, Austin, Cole, Daniel,
Allie, Addie, Adam, Meredith, and Mr. Keenan!

Here are few examples of the photos scrolling on our website.
We invite you to go directly to the website on a computer, Ipad, or phone and check out these great photos!.

Avon Lions Club spent a morning at York Elementary School performing vision screenings on pre-k, kindergarten and first grade students. A total of 55 students received the vision screening; five were referred to their health care professional for further testing.
The program is called Lions SEE (Screen Eyes Early) and it screens young children for vision problems that can lead to Amblyopia, commonly referred to as
“lazy eye.”
Trained volunteers and Avon Lions Club members Tim McGee, George DeKramer, and Kevin Patrick performed the vision screenings. Parents were notified in advance and gave their permission.
The Lions Club has been committed to programs that protect eyesight, such as the SEE program and providing eyeglasses to the disadvantaged.
We appreciate the Avon Lions Club partnering with our school nurses Mrs. Kingsley and Mrs. Norman to provide this valuable screening.
