The York CSD Board of Education appointed Mr. Charlie Passarell as the next Middle-High School Principal, effective July 1, 2025.

Dear York CSD Families:
It is a pleasure for me to announce that at the April 21, 2025, meeting, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Mr. Charlie Passarell as York’s Middle/High School Principal, effective July 1, 2025.
Mr. Passarell has been the Assistant Principal at Greece Olympia High School (6-12) since 2023. Before that, he was the Assistant Principal at Greece Arcadia Middle School. In both of his Assistant Principal roles, Mr. Passarell oversaw student management and was the CSE Chair for Middle School. He served in several administrative capacities related to student academic achievement and school improvement. Additionally, Mr. Passarell developed and administered professional learning for staff.
His student-centered philosophy and commitment to building strong student, staff, and family relationships, poise Mr. Passarell to be a highly effective and successful York Middle/High School Principal.
Mr. Passarell completed his undergraduate education at SUNY Brockport, majoring in English Literature with Secondary and 7-12 Special Education. His first job was as an ELA teacher at Geneseo High School and later became the Enrichment Principal for Geneseo MS. He also coached basketball while at Geneseo HS.
He went on to complete a Masters of Arts in Literacy from SUNY Geneseo and earned a Certificate of Advance Graduate Study from Stony Brook University, leading to his certifications as a School Building and School District Leader..
Growing up in neighboring Avon and graduating from Avon High School, Mr. Passarell proudly calls Livingston County his home. He and his wife Kate and children Calum and Karis reside in Avon. He is an avid Buffalo Bills fan who spends Sundays rooting for his team. His favorite pastime is being a husband and Dad.
“I am honored and humbled to join the Golden Knight community and look forward to the opportunity to lead and learn alongside students, staff, and families. York has had a longstanding tradition of school and community pride--I am extremely excited to be a part of it,” he commented.
