We have awesome Knights!
Congratulations to these elementary school students who were recognized at the October character assembly for demonstrating respect.

One of our favorite fall traditions is celebrating apple season with apple umpkin activities in first grade.
Started many years ago by Mrs. Streb, the students participate in several different activity centers in each of the first grade classrooms. They have fun painting, counting, coloring, pasting, and especially, creating caramel apples! Yum!
This fun day is a successful collaboration of Mrs. Streb, Miss Routly and Mrs. Rudgers, with plenty of help from our classroom aides and family volunteers.

Big applause for our elementary school students who competed in the Pumpkin Fun Run! They really showed their health and wellness in this activity.
All students trained for the pumpkin fun run over the past month in PE classes.
Students in grades 3-5 competed in the 1.2 mile course while our younger students in grades pre-k to 2 competed in the.6 mile course. Students could run, jog, or walk the course. Several staff members participated, as well.
After the fun run, students received a healthy snack, danced to Halloween music, played corn hole, PE connect four, and tic tac toe, and hula hooped while cheering on their classmates!
Big thanks to Mrs. D'Archangelo for organizing the Pumpkin Fun Run and to the PE and other staff who helped with the fun activity.
Perhaps the Boston Marathon will be in some of their futures!

Several York High School students took the first steps in earning the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness. When completed, the Seal of Civic Readiness appears as a distinction on the student’s high school transcript and diploma.
According to the New York State Education Department website, the Seal of Civic Readiness recognizes a student’s proficiency in civic skills and experiences and demonstrates their interest in community and civic engagement.
Students pursuing the Seal of Civic Readiness must complete the requirements, which includes specific classroom coursework and extracurricular projects.

Blaze your own trails today, Knights!

When you're only in kindergarten and are recognized for acts of kindness - the future is bright!
Their teacher, Miss George, and Miss Bowick, their classroom aide, are very proud of these Bright Knights !

Miss Durfee's English 10 students participated in a classroom journey to learn about the experiences of refugees.
Students participated in a board game designed to introduce the themes of the book, "We Are Displaced: My Journey and Stories from Refugee Girls," by Malala Yousafzai.
The game included a series of challenges, emotions, and situations that refugees might encounter during their journeys to safety.

The photo of the day is not in the east...it's in the west.
Good morning Golden Knights...it's day 3 of Spirit Week. Sure as the moon sets and the sun rises over the valley, it's going to be a good day in Knight Country.

Spirit Week 2024...Day 3 was Color day!
Knights - Red, green, purple, blue, orange, white, pink, and black looks good on you but not as GREAT as purple and gold will look!
Wear your purple and gold tomorrow for our final day of Spirit Week and our Pep Assembly!
