Capital Improvement Project Vote October 20, 2026
Dear YCS Families,
The York Central School District will hold a public vote on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, on a $9,978,000 Capital Improvement Project.
There is NO ADDITIONAL TAX IMPACT with this Capital Improvement Project.
The project includes several necessary renovations, routine maintenance, and improvements to our school buildings and campus.
York Central School Superintendent Jesse Hamilton will discuss the details of the proposed Capital Improvement Project at a Public Information Presentation on Monday, October 5 at 6 p.m. in the Ivan F. Hilfiker Auditorium. We encourage the community to attend the presentation to learn the scope of the project and how the District will utilize State Aid funding, resulting in no tax impact for local residents.
- Renovation and upgrade of steps and the gold doors (front of building facing Rt. 63. )
- Reconstruct front bus loop
- Reconstruct tennis courts
- Replace dust collector in wood shop
- Classroom window replacement
- Elementary School Gym improvements
- Replace press box roof
- Relocate safer stadium entrance
- Upgrade classroom exhausts
- High School gym air handling improvements
- Auditorium sound system improvements
- Address drainage issues
- Pool mechanical maintenance
