Concussions are a common occurrence among students. A concussion is a type of brain injury that occurs when the brain is shaken or moved suddenly due to a blow to the body or head.
York Central School uses a computerized concussion management tool called Impact for base-line and post -injury testing. Every student in grades 7-12 completes a base-line Impact test. If a student is suspected of having a concussion, whether it occurred from sports or at home, the student will complete a post-injury Impact test.
York Central School District has established concussion protocols to protect students' health.

The York School students joined others from throughout the GLOW region for the career exploration event where representatives from various construction fields demonstrated their expertise and encouraged the students to participate in activities like welding, bricklaying, electrical wiring, heavy equipment operation, mechatronics, nursing, emergency medical services, etc.

Mr. Keenan's Tech class learned how powerful the sun is and how solar energy can be used.
The students created their individual cookers to place the ingredients in: Graham cracker, milk chocolate and a marshmallow.
They took advantage of these warm, bright days and let solar heat cook their s'mores.
After a few minutes in the sun the result was a gooey s'more. Delicious!
