York Central is extremely proud of its excellent K-5 elementary program. 

The York Elementary School staff has been working extremely hard to make sure that our program for students has an exemplary status. We have been pushing for excellence in all areas of our total curriculum. Some highlights of the outstanding offerings at York Elementary are:

• Whole school Character Education Program
• An active Elementary School Student Council
• An extensive leveled literature book room
• Implemented Everyday Math program
• Participation in the Gifted and Talented Consortium Differentiated Instruction Program
• Curriculum mapping with a focus on guaranteed, viable curriculum
• A systematic tiered approach to RTI
• Introduction of a Child Success Team that works with staff and families
• An outstanding Odyssey of the Mind program

Most importantly, the Elementary School is proud of its caring attitude when it comes to putting students first.
